Many of the quilting patterns presented in books and magazines are made with units that are easily cut using a rotary cutter and ruler, the quilting wizards we would not want to be without. However, some of those great patterns available have shapes that can be tedious or impossible to rotary cut - you must have a template.
Most template making materials, usually vinyl plastic or posterboard, are not sturdy enough to hold up under repeated markings or use with your rotary cutter. Pattern pieces with curves can be very time consuming when you have to trace each shape one at a time and then cut out with scissors. These types of templates need to be replaced often or your piecing accuracy will be affected.
Sturdy acrylic templates eliminate these problems enabling you to cut multiple layers of fabric or paper in unusual shapes using your rotary cutter and mat in always the same size and without measuring.
We give you choices and options and a large selection of Ready To Order Patterns in several sizes. Order templates that include the 1/4 inch seam allowance for machine piecing.
Finished size templates, that don't include the seam allowances, can cut several layers of paper at once for freezer paper sewing techniques where the paper pattern is your stitching quide. They can also be used for cutting english paper pieces or for marking stitching lines for hand piecing. Applique shapes such as leaves can be cut quickly and uniformly in much less time with your rotary cutter.
So many ways to quilt quicker, easier, better!!
